She was there as a young person to honor the 25 Legends along with Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, etc. A "legend" was defined as a person who Oprah admired and they were older than her (like Cicely Tyson, Diana Ross, Coretta Scott King, etc)." Thanks for the clarification! Read more... Thursday May 11 2006, 21:44 More News on Janet Janet, through her official site janet-jackson.com treated fans to a fun new song called "Weekend" as a gift to her fans. The song was taken down shortly after and Janet posted another note that the song would not be on the forthcoming album, but that another song, "Call on Me" would be hitting radio June 19th! Also, Janet confirmed the title of the new album will be "20 Years Old" and even made mention of a tour! Yaaaa Hooooo!! ;-) Lots of rumors and excitement as the release of Janet's new project draws near, here's a few tidbits. Monday, May 15 @ 8PM, Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball will have a special on ABC. Janet was one of 25 legendary women honored by Oprah in a celebration at her house! September 29, It has been reported that Janet will be performing on NBC's "Today" Show, for their annual summer concert series! That one is a ways away so stay tuned! |
